UPTU undertakes continuous outreach to schools (physically and virtually) to sensitize and enroll members into the union, and use the union as a platform to:
a) Lobby employers for improved and working conditions for the workers.
b) Participate in the development and review of favorable policies, laws and regulations at various levels.
c) Provide support of legal and other nature to indigent members, conducting education and trainings on matters of industrial relations, do court representations, establish resource centre on workers’ matters, facilitate establishment of mechanisms for dialogue and dispute settlement at the different levels of union operation, commission position papers among others.
